Dental Assistant
The Center for Dental Medicine at the University of Zurich (ZZM) is an internationally recognized clinic, training, and research center. In six specialized clinics and one institute, dentists and scientists work at the forefront of knowledge in interdisciplinary teams to achieve the highest quality in patient care, teaching, and research.
The Clinic for Dysfunction of the Jaw Joint and Dental Materials Science focuses on:
- Experimental and clinical research in the field of orofacial pain, as well as normal function and dysfunction of the jaw joints.
- Offering an interdisciplinary consultation for the diagnosis and therapy of chronic mouth, jaw, and facial pain and joint problems.
- Management of material incompatibilities.
- Supervision of master's students and doctoral candidates.
The interdisciplinary team currently consists of 23 members.
Responsibilities

Reception & Patient Care
- Receive, greet, and guide patients.
- Handle telephone and written inquiries in German and English.
- Schedule, confirm appointments, and manage recall systems.
- Maintain and update patient records.

Treatment Room & Workflow
- Prepare and set up treatment areas.
- Maintain and ensure hygiene in treatment rooms.
- Order and manage supplies.

Administration & Correspondence
- Prepare and format medical reports.
- Issue prescriptions and referrals.
- Communicate with referrers and insurance companies.
- Assist in accounting tasks.
- Maintain electronic schedules.

Hygiene Concept & Quality
- Implement and monitor compliance with hygiene protocols.
- Ensure and document adherence to quality standards.
- Participate in internal quality processes.

Teaching & Clinic Support
- Support and guide students in clinical courses.
Profile
- Completed vocational training as a dental assistant along with practical experience.
- Good German and English language skills, knowledge of additional languages is welcome.
- Independent, reliable, and responsible work ethic.
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Experience in scheduling and patient care.
- Team spirit and a friendly, professional demeanor.
