Role & Responsibilities

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Execute end-to-end workflows for tissue specimens, including processing, embedding, sectioning, staining (including immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunofluorescence (IF)) and digital pathology techniques such as whole slide scanning;
• Perform quality control, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting across a range of histology lab instruments to ensure high-quality data production;
• Provide training and support in the use of histology equipment, and collaborate with laboratory scientists to optimize tissue-based assays in early drug discovery research projects;
• Embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay up to date on new technologies/approaches used in the histopathology space.

Candidate Profile

Must Haves:

• Hold a university degree in the life sciences or be a Laboratory Technologist with at least 3 years of histology laboratory experience.
• Exceptional skills in the histological preparation of mammalian tissues, including hands-on experience in fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining techniques, and a solid understanding of regulations for assay documentation.
• Customer-focused with a drive for growth and a questioning mindset. Skilled in creative problem-solving, organization, and implementing innovative ideas efficiently in a fast-paced research context.
• Excellent communicators with a high fluency in English, a desire to continuously build a personal network and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment which gives full accountability for own contributions and development.
