In the EHS - Environment, Health, and Safety department, we are looking for a dedicated personality as a Safety Engineer – Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit.

Main Responsibilities

• Expert advice in the fields of occupational safety, fire protection, and environmental protection at all operational areas of the Schaffhausen site.
• Ensure compliance with the European and J&J laws/guidelines in accordance with the current state of the art.
• Participation in projects.
• Conduct inspections at construction and work sites with follow-up on measures.
• Consult on the use of work equipment and work processes.
• Advise/supervise personal protective equipment at worksites.
• Conduct trainings on various topics related to occupational safety, fire protection, and environmental protection.
• Perform safety tasks such as fire watch, rescue, fall protection.
• Conduct/evaluate activity-related reports and statistics.
• Participate in the practical implementation of occupational safety by creating guidelines, specifications, instructions. Support management in implementing the resulting measures.

Your Profile

• Ideally, you have completed a degree in occupational safety, safety engineering, or a similar qualification.
• You bring with you an analytical mindset, structured approach to work, and strong teamwork and communication skills, along with assertiveness and resilience.
• Qualifications include:
  • Training as a safety engineer, occupational safety expert, ASGS (Safety and Health Specialist) according to SUVA guidelines.
  • At least 4-6 years of professional experience in the field including leading roles and project work.
  • Knowledge of IT systems and MS Office.
  • Negotiation-level proficiency in German and English in spoken and written form.
  • Initiative to advance projects improving quality standards.
  • Training in operating aerial work platforms according to IPAF, VSSA, DGUV, or willingness to achieve this.
  • Training in the basic module fall protection PSAgA according to DGUV, or willingness to achieve this.
  • Training as a fire protection helper/firewatcher/member of a volunteer fire department, or willingness to achieve this.
  • Experience in handling operating equipment (possibly also as a trainer).
  • The necessary health qualifications to perform the listed qualifications.
